Good article, but it makes some basic mistakes about the use of links; they should always be idempotent.

i clicked 25 times on the ’save’ button but nothing saved!

well of course if all the browsers supported it perfectly then there wouldn’t be much need for us ‘web designers’

Rather than using the button element with hard-coded image tags over and over again, I would use input buttons with multiple classes to define the different button types like ‘button save’, ‘button changepassword’ etc. That way I could specify how ‘input.button’ should look, but then specify that an ‘input.save’ element should have 30px padding on the left and have tick.png as a no-repeat background image, for example. This way you give yourself much more control over how a certain button looks site-wide without ever having to do a find-and-replace. This also has the added benefit of allowing you to offer a different stylesheet for your site that changes the icons too.

Bleah, the whole HTML/CSS mess needs to be tossed into the trash. We need: a semantic language, a layout language, and an expression language which transforms semantics to layout. The layout language should have an unambiguous and unalterable visual semantic. The expression language is equivalent to a stylesheet. The semantic language, of course, is your content. Apparently this has been done via XML with XSLT to some degree, but XHTML blows as a layout language, and XML blows in general. This whole mess reeks of inertia.

This is one of the worst implementations of a dock possible. While it does LOOK good, its semantic markup and standards compliance scores suck. Not to mention, as others have said, it’s ‘mystery meat’ navigation.

Again, if waiters don’t know basic etiquette, what are they doing waiting? Of course, I don’t expect the waiters/waitresses at Denny’s to be aware of the rules of fine dining, but in a nice restaurant the employees should know some of these things. They are the professionals, after all.

I think the article title is a little bit misleading. The average person would probably read it and think that the Hillary campaign balance was -7.6 million. However, the article goes on to say that she owes $7.6 million to various companies and people, but has millions on hand. It’s not to say that she is in good shape, but the difference between the two is very large.

Using the same language of the poster, I could very well link to the same article and say “Barack Obama $1MILLION IN DEBT at end of Jan.!” According to the article he owes $1 million himself.

I’m sure its a great upscaling dvd player, and who knows, you might pick up some dirt cheap hd dvds along the way. Still a good buy

For the record: I got an Toshiba HD DVD player (A30) for Christmas and the upscaling was spectacular. I’m just glad I had 30days from the date of purchase to return it just after WB jumped ship.

Red meat is fine, and absolutely no reason whatsoever to cut out seafood or poultry. In fact, seafood is probably one of the more healthy foods you could ever eat. To even suggest cutting it out is flat out stupid.

The rest of the stuff, yes, but this is simply vegan spam. Buried.

A vegan diet will make you grow moobs. You will also start perioding all over the place.

Its not as hard to eat reasonably as people think. This is my typical daily diet.

5:15am granola bar (carbs for energy for the gym)
7:15am Protein Shake
7:30am Bowl of Oatmeal, high in fructose and carbs, energy and insulin spike for protein synthesis
9:00am South beach diet meal replacement bar (20g protein, 200 calories)
12:00 Either a 8-10oz salmon fillet, or 10oz chicken breast with 1 1-2 cups of brown rice or whole wheat pasta
3:00 Either a can of tuna, some vegetables, or some fruit
6:00pm Pretty much same as lunch
9:00pm 1 1/2 - 2 cups fat free cottage cheese.

Now keep in mind, I’m a heavy gym goer, the above diet is for me, as its a bit above my maintenance levels for building muscle, but at the same time losing fat. I have some before and after pictures if you don’t think it works.

Most people think that in order to eat healthy, you have to eat shit you won’t like which is complete bullshit. Your problem is based on the fact that you have acquired the love for the stuff that ISN’T healthy for you, IE: taco bell, McDonald’s, etc.

Another thing to keep in mind when you change your lifestyle in regards to eating.
1. Don’t think of it as a diet, it makes it tedious and you will likely fall off the wagon in a short amount of time.
2. You can have a cheat meal or two a week and its not going to kill you.
3. Go get some exercise, all it takes is 30 Min’s on a treadmill, 3x a week and it will make a huge difference.
4. Treadmill not your thing? Look into HIITS, this is almost guaranteed to make the fat fall off you, but its not for the squeamish, its rough, but takes 10-15 minutes opposed to 30-60 minutes.

Also, egg yolks and read meat are actually GOOD for you.

Just about EVERY job int he US was created by a rich person investing money or skill. Every big or midsized company was created by a rich person, and the rich and middle class pay all the taxes which allows for government jobs. The rich either invest or spend their money, and they alone support entire industries - the luxury private yacht business for example, employs probably 100,000 people nationwide.
When the rich invest large amounts of money, it creates way more jobs than the government ever could with double the amount of money.
Bill gates has single handidly done more for Seattle than any government ever could.
Taxing the rich is the worst move for the economy - look at the boom former Soviet block countries are having because they switched to a flat tax???
Don’t forget, since IRS agents will be used to enforce Obamas or Clinton’s health care plans, the premiums are basically new taxes designated for a specific purpose, just like Social Security.
