Most of those tutorials looked really amateurish. The only one that looked sort of natural was the eye-makeup girl, and even then the opacity should have been about 15 points lower and gaussian blur’d.

But, then again. . .i’ve seen alot of the women that are idolize in magazines and on television, and they look COMPLETELY unnatural. What the fuck is with the amount of blurring they do to women’s skin?; they don’t look human any more. Uhh… php sucks. How many security flaws for it come out WEEKLY? Thus, Drupal has issues.
Don’t believe me? Why then doesn’t Google use PHP for everything? Oh, because it sucks. Thus they use mainly python.
Try Plone instead. It’s written in Python and uses Zope instead of mySQL. Much more secure.

We need a president who is brilliant with the economy–Mitt Romney would have been best. The next president had better get some great advisers.

I’m having difficulty hiring people fast enough in a very competitive market for good IT jobs. I have about 30-40 friends who’ve recently changed jobs and none of them were unemployed more than a week. And my friends in the Southwest (Texas, OK, NM etc.) are booming in a white-hot economy. But because the East and West coast are slipping down after running up real estate far beyond reason, they decide everywhere is bad.

It’s always regional, folks. I’ve been on the other end when the stick when the story was that the economy was overheating while unemployment where I was was at 22% and my house declined in value over 20%, erasing my equity. For once I’m on the happy end of the economic see-saw which pleases me no end.

I predict that his predictions will not even come close to bear reality.

Who in the right mind would be convinced by such simplistic idiotic understanding of the economy from a blog.

If we know what’s going to happen, how can readers of Digg financially use this information to our benefit? (e.g. converting our stock portfolios to EFTs such as GOLD of which is rising fast, or investing in foreign markets before the brunt of this devaluation occurs)

I don’t think these prediction are unreasonable. These events have been developing for years, couple this with the huge revenue short falls the government will see in 2010 and 2011, and it doesn’t look good for our next president.

15 years of NAFTA and similar trade agreements have devastated American manufacturing, what was the backbone of the middle class workforce. Millions and millions of jobs erased, and therefore, all those incomes that would have been spent around town, no longer spent, and millions more jobs lost as a result.

15 years of getting to the point where “not enough good paying jobs” is resulting in an economy on the verge of collapse. And nothing is going to change that anytime soon. It would take another decade or more to fix the damage, but nobody’s going to do that. Things are going to get very, very bad in this country. We’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg at this point.

I’m reprinting the 10 predictions I made and I’ve put in italics those which have already occurred.

I don’t buy the oil thing either, but for a different reason. Every analyst I read says that fundamentals just don’t support $100 a barrel oil…it’s more like $60-80. It’s the hedge funds and the pension funds and the institutional speculators that have jacked oil up to these levels. I can’t see that changing anytime soon, either.

Arrogant and right is always better than ignorant and wrong. If there was evidence that strongly supported ID, Dawkins would have no problem switching sides - but there isn’t. No matter what scientific evidence there is to support evolution, creationists and ID supporters will not accept it because of their faulty logic.

About 3 years ago, I “deconverted” to atheism. I am a bible school graduate, an ex-pastor, and I used to be one of the folks that would fall for Haggard’s BS.

After the shock of my deconversion, I started to send letters to prominent atheists basically asking for help - how do you restart a life after 34 years of lies and misdirected thinking? At the time, I didn’t know a single other atheist.

I received replies from many of then and they all were encouraging, but by far the most personable and compassionate individual that I had the pleasure of meeting was Richard Dawkins. He took a tremendous amount of time and energy and continued to write and encourage me. He is a bright light in a dark place, truly a man of wisdom and character who tool time to write to someone that he had never (and still hasn’t) ever met in person.

His writing is blunt and direct. He will not suffer fools willingly, but he is an extremely kind and compassionate man.

assuming the hypothesis in TFA is true (that drugs excreted in our urine end up back in the water supply) you would think that it would be the same drugs everywhere, medical practice is very similar across the US, people get prescribed the same popular meds at roughly the same rates, something else must be going on to have different drugs showing up in different places like they report.

Microsoft extended the warranty on all Xbox 360s for 3 years and it wasn’t enough, how is Nintendo’s customer support any better than Microsoft’s?

I had to send in my wii for repairs. I was getting crazy graphic problems where there would be vertical black lines on some games. I sent it in for repairs and they sent it back with this letter.

“We couldn’t find anything wrong with your wii along the lines of what you described..” As this point I was going to throw a shit fit.. then I kept reading.. “… So we replaced everything inside the wii that could have caused the described problem.” Which basically included everything inside the wii itself. I’m 110% satisfied with Nintendo’s customers service and am extremely proud to own one of their consoles. I know they strive to make things right.

Why not implement a proprietary encryption into popular bittorrent clients as a plugin (whilst maintaining client-to-client) ? We’d be breaking the law by using it, but then so would those who try to prosecute us.

Or use a MAC changer and get on someone else’s wireless.

This is a low quality pseudo-anonymous service; it conceals the identity of peers you are connected to, defeats all blacklists (i.e. PeerGuardian, IPtables, etc.), and maintains billing and (presumably) service records that can be seized by any court that has normal treaty relations with Canada.

If you want anonymous file transfers use Freenet, which is eventually going to replace BitTorrent anyway. It’s the next generation technology, 100% encrypted and anonymized - even you don’t know what you are hosting or who is downloading it. When Big Brother finally does stomp down on the BitTorrent protocol, Freenet will be the thumbtack in his heel.
