- Suddenly, the computer crashed. None of the cash registers could function. Ted Donoghue, the assistant manager running the store on the afternoon of Dec. 13, consulted associates and made a snap decision:
All customers passing through the registers would get their food for free until the computers were working again.
I doubt any other chain store would have done the same thing, but this is Whole Foods, where every employee earns a living wage, employees are real team members and customer satisfaction is not just a saying but a practice.”It was clearly a snafu on our end, and it d…

- Giuliani Secretive As Mayor :: Breaking Story :: News | News and Policy.com
- When a mayor of New York leaves office, little goes out the door but memories — unless he’s Rudy Giuliani. Government rules discourage the city’s most powerful officeholder from departing with more than token gifts collected on the job. Giuliani secreted out of City Hall the written, photographic and electronic record of his eight years in office
In May 2001, in the midst of the mayor’s divorce proceedings, one of Giuliani’s top lawyers seized from a city library a document with blueprints to Gracie Mansion and blocked access to another copy. At the time, the mayor and his wife were arguing in court over whet…

- Japan Will NOT Hunt Humpbacks
- In a shocking move, the Japanese government has backed down and suspended plans to hunt up to 50 humpback whales after extreme protests by the Australian people and government. Although they’re still going to kill all the other whale

My thoughts when reading this: If engineers develop a braking technology that will increase under-braking by cutting down on over-braking, slow reacting people would be screwed…and so would the people in the car directly in front of Mr. or Mrs. Slow-Reaction.
“over-braking as a result of slow reactions.”
is this the cause of L.A traffic? wow this article is lame!
Another good reason to stay sharp behind the wheel, avoid sudden maneuvers and braking, and maintain a consistent speed. The problem with most driver’s ed and motor vehicle departments is that they only teach you how to pass the test, not how to drive.
