- ASA : Medical Marijuana Payback Burns Colorado Police
- Policing pot in Colorado is about to get a lot more complicated. The kick-in-the-door raids SWAT teams have long employed could now cost cities hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The largest case thus far involves Kevin Dickes, who intends to sue the Denver suburb of Aurora for over $360,000 in pot damages. It comes less than a month after a judge ordered the return of an estimated $200,000 of medical marijuana to a couple in Fort Collins.

Well I got to say, its good to see our hard earned tax dollars used stopping dangerous pot growers and not wasted catching murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and corrupt politicians. I feel so much safer nowAs a Police Officer for 18 years I can safely say that I could give 2 shits about marijuana in any amount. I’m far more concerned with burglaries, serious assaults, sexual assaults, kid predators, elderly abuse and keeping drunken fools off the roads.a “plant” is btwn 2-10 ounces, depending on how healthy they are. In australia you would pay no more than $350 per ounce. thats a max of about $3500. Hmmmm….10 oz from 1 plant is REALLY fkn good too….If you break into a house with firearms, physically assault the occupant therein and steal several hundred thousand dollars worth of personal property which you subsequently destroy you go to jail for a long time. When the cops do it, the chief gets to whine that laws only apply to the little people. Just once I’d like to see a prosecutor with the spine to file felony charges for B&E, assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft, malicious destruction of property and a few other charges to boot. Aside from the thrill of hearing a few SWATers fake a German accent as they say “ve vere just following orders” it would only take one or two of these incidents before the message was heard. For that matter, since the prosecutor *did* file charges, a lawsuit for malicious prosecution is probably in order. But that’ll never happen. And sue the pants off the neighbor for slander - making false accusations of felonious activity should be more than enough to win the house of that busybody and force it to move away.I hope he strips that police department of all of their funds.Cop math. heheThanks to a referendum passed in 2000, Article XVIII, Section 14 of the Colorado State Constitution stipulates that “any property… used in connection with the medical use of marijuana… shall not be harmed, neglected, injured, or destroyed while in theYeah, it’s awesome to see the enemy sweating their own bogus valuations for a change, how many people have been hung out to dry for having “$200,000 worth” of newly rooted clones …They got the right house and didn’t murder anyone, they’re two steps ahead of most SWAT raids!I think both interpretations cover the situation pretty well.Poor colorado police, now they will have to do 10 minutes of detecive work before they kick in doors of accused pot heads.Yeah, and then someone will get the genius idea of voting for the sheriff who vows to stop losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in wrongheaded pot busts. If it’s any consolation, all of the democratic presidential nominees plus Ron Paul intend to stop these silly raids on medical marijuana facilities.
