• Starbucks Corp. today announced that it’s dumping longtime partner T-Mobile, and switching to AT&T. Best of all, Starbucks announced that WiFi will now be free in many stores for the first two hours (as I predicted).
  

  ok, the $19.99/mo is if you want unlimited access. Yes, the Starbucks card will only get you 2 hours/day, but that’s 2 hours/day for FREE by having a Starbucks card (which is and always have been free, and this article in NO WAY STATES the card will carry a fee).

  Go to an indie coffee shop. Almost all independent coffee shops have free wifi.

  That means * avoid * Starbucks, Wi-fi might not be that nice to your health as you might think.

  Someone who knows, please answer.
  Does buying a one-time $20 Starbucks debit card, without any monthly plan or credit, entitle one to two hours of WiFi per day?
  If so, that’s not a bad deal. Even for the occasional addict, why keep all that loose change or put it into the tips box?
  Buy a card once. Then use it sparingly, even paying cash sometimes.

  I have never been in a Starbucks. It’s my own personal revolt against Corporate America.
  (Plus I’m to cheap to pay $3 for a cup of coffee.)

  Who wants to use AT&T anyway? Prepare to have your privacy violated if you do.
