  Interesting points. I'll add one thing, though, about the date/time handling. Postgres definitely has the upper hand on the data types, allowing for timezone and all, but the Date and Time functions available for MySQL have been far more user friendly, in my experience. It's nice to see a fairly balanced look at things instead of all the “PostGres good, MySQL bad” arguments we usually see.
